Woman Convicted In Murder Of Karyn Hearn Slover Dies In Custody
(Decatur, IL) — A woman convicted in a high-profile murder in central Illinois in 1996 is dead. Jeannette Slover died while in custody at the age of 77. Slover, her husband Michael Slover, Senior., and her son Michael Slover, Junior were found guilty in 2002 of murdering Michael Junior’s ex-wife, Karyn Hearn Slover. The 23-year-old mother of one went missing after leaving her job at the Decatur Herald and Review. Her dismembered body was found two days later in plastic bags at Lake Shelbyville. Michael Senior died in prison in 2022 and Michael Junior was paroled in the spring of 2024.
