Massey Family Responds To Decision To Keep Deputy Jailed
(Springfield, IL) — The family of Sonya Massey is relieved her accused killer will remain behind bars. Last week, the Illinois State Supreme denied former Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputy Sean Grayson pretrial release, overturning a lower court decision. Massey family attorney, renowned civil rights lawyer Ben Crump, released a statement saying the court upheld their responsibility and prioritized public safety. The latest ruling keeps Grayson in custody until the State Supreme Court rules on the county’s request for an appeal.
