Central Illinois Cities Still Waiting For Federal COVID-19 Aid

Large cities such as Chicago have received millions of dollars in aid from Washington to help them deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.  But, mayors in central Illinois cities say they’re still waiting for help with their funding requests.  Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis says Illinois lawmakers tell him they hope to have funding approved within the next week.  He says lack of sales taxes and other forms of revenues due to the pandemic have crippled cities across the country.
