The Anti-Defamation League is speaking out against comparisons weekend protesters made between Governor J.B. Pritzker and Hitler.
Among the signs at a Springfield protest Saturday were one that portrayed Pritzker with a swastika behind him and a Hitler-esque mustache. The League’s Regional Director released a statement over the weekend calling the comparisons vile and antisemitic. The statement also referred to an all-time high in Illinois of antisemitic incidents and said the protests “are becoming rallying points for hate and extremism.” The League also chastised other protesters for their silence about the signs.
