The City of Decatur has declared a snow emergency, going in to effect at 10:00pm Saturday, January 4, 2025.
Emergency provisions of Section 11 of Chapter 34 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, establishing Emergency Snow Routes will become effective at that time.
Under the snow emergency regulations:
The parking, leaving or standing of any vehicle is prohibited on designated Emergency Snow Routes. The snow emergency routes are identified by red and white signs. The sign reads: “Emergency Snow Route, No Parking After 2″ Snowfall, Tow Away Zone”.
All vehicles now parked on the emergency snow routes must be removed within (6) hours of the designated time of this declaration, regardless of normal parking regulations on these streets. Violators of snow emergency regulations are subject to fines and towing.
