Jury Selection Slow Moving In Madigan Trial
(Chicago, IL) — Jury selection is slowly moving in the racketeering trial of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan. No jurors were selected for a second straight day yesterday. As a result, opening statements won’t likely begin until next week. Madigan and longtime confidant, Michael McClain, are charged with conspiring to participate in an array of bribery and extortion schemes.
