Leading up to Cole Swindell’s wedding, the country star was focused on writing a wedding song for his future wife, Courtney Little. Swindell spent late night sessions with his songwriting team working on a new song that was coming together. Swindell was so fixated on it that he nearly missed attending the NCAA Championship football game in Houston. That tune eventually did become Swindell’s wedding song, “Forever To Me,” which is also the lead single from his forthcoming album. “We were just talking, and I ended up saying that Courtney was like, ‘She’s forever to me,'” Swindell said of the song’s origins. “They were like, ‘That’s it. That’s what it’s got to be.’ I remember telling people in the suite, ‘I just wrote one of my favorite songs; that’s probably going to be my wedding song.’ That’s how some of the favorite songs happen. You just got to be present.” (CMT)
