BARN COLONY ARTIST SPRING SHOW
Barn Colony Artist Spring Show opened May 2nd at the Anne Lloyd Gallery at the Madden Arts Center, 125 N. Water St. in downtown Decatur. The show will run through May 21st.
The public is invited to attend the First Friday Gallery Walk at the Anne Lloyd Gallery on Friday, May 6th, 5-7:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public. The Blue Connection, featuring the work of Millikin students, as well as Gallery 510 will be open.
The judge for this show was Mr. Bob Dondeville. He received his undergraduate degree from IL State University and his Master’s degree from Eastern IL University. Bob taught in area public schools for 28 years. For 11 years he taught at Richland Community College when it was at the old Millikin National Bank. He continues to teach area classes and is a favorite instructor of Barn Colony Artists.
Best of Show Experienced ribbon was awarded to Anthony Collins for oil. Best of Show Amateur ribbon was awarded to Nancy Klebe for watercolor. The Marjorie Starkey Creativity Award was presented to Katherine Unruh for acrylic.
First Place Experienced ribbons were awarded to Ann Brunson, black and white drawing; Barbara Dove, oil; Sue Goodpaster, pastel; Betty Moser, photography; Rae Nell Spencer, watercolor; and Marla Winkleback, clay.
First Place Amateur ribbons were awarded to Nancy Klebe, acrylic; Christina Shields, mixed media; and George Virgil for black and white drawing, watercolor, and photography.
