Another Minority Group Challenges Redistricting Maps

Another minority group is challenging Illinois’ proposed redistricting maps.  The Illinois African Americans for Equitable Redistricting has filed a 65-page complaint with the Justice Department asking them to investigate the maps for infringement of voting rights of Black voters.  Group organizer Valerie Leonard says the Illinois Democrats should be overruled on its redistricting decision.  Leonard says the maps represent the most regressive maps in state history.
