Illinois Treasurer Mike Frerichs says his office has returned a record breaking one billion dollars in unclaimed property. The “I-CASH” program reunites people with items long forgotten in safe deposit boxes, uncashed rebate cards and life insurance policies. Treasurer Frerichs says it’s worth your while to check to see if you have any unclaimed property.
He credits increased efforts and technology improvements for the success. To check if you are due any money or property, go online to illinoistreasurer.gov and click on “I-CASH”.
