Many of you have likely noticed the man standing on the corner near the sign at the Civic Center recently, holding up his own signs such as “Bring back the guillotine” or “Time to eat the rich”.
Well, his name is Marc Girdler and he strongly opposes some of the policy decisions of members of the Decatur City Council. I spoke with Marc today and asked him some questions.
Marc Girdler is a 40-year-old Decatur resident and, apparently, he has been at this for nearly a year now. He believes the Decatur City Council has members who are corrupt and he would like to see those members resign.
Marc is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. He plans on sticking with his picketing until certain members resign.
Also, he plans on opposing those on the Council by running against them – he has toyed with running under the moniker “Guillotine Girdler”.
