The new foundry will be built at 2700 North Jasper. It is currently still in the design phase and construction is slated to begin in a few months.
The foundry will make brass parts that will be shipped to other Mueller facilities. Mueller was founded in Decatur by Hieronymus Mueller in 1857.
Decatur was selected for the bid over other cities that weren’t named, but it was a “competitive process”.
