More information comes out on why the KFC on Pershing was closed by the Macon County Health Dept. The inspector noted that the hand washing sink by the walk in cooler was damaged and needed repaired. Grease had also built up below the cooking station and prep line . The inspector goes on to note that the mop sink was not draining properly, and that tiles on the kitchen floor were broken. Which cause food debris to build up. Lastly the walls seem to have a build up of grease on them. Each infraction had a single word next to them of what needed to be done, words like “clean” or “repair”. No time line given yet as to when the KFC will be open again for business.
