(Decatur, IL) -- The numbers are in for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Drive. The annual fundraising effort wrapped up on Christmas Eve and the results were anemic. The charity was hoping to raise 175-thousand-dollars over the holiday season but fell more than 25-thousand-dollars short of that goal. The unfortunate part is that the Salvation Army relies on the Red Kettle donations to cover a big chunk of its annual operating costs.
