Vacant Home Goes Up In Flames

(Decatur, IL) -- Fire officials are looking into what sparked a blaze that completely torched a vacant Decatur home early Thursday morning. The dwelling in the 800-block of East William Street was practically reduced to ashes shortly after midnight, so it’s not going to be easy for investigators to find the ignition point. A neighboring home was badly damaged as well, to the tune of about 25-grand, and also displaced a mom and her child. They’re receiving help from the Red Cross as their home is uninhabitable right now.
