(Champaign, IL) -- University of Illinois archivists are still in shock after a previously undiscovered poem penned by a Pulitzer Prize winner was found right on the bookshelf. Volunteers recently came across a poem entitled “A Revolver,” apparently typewritten by the late three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Carl Sandburg. The single page was found inside Sandburg’s archives at the Rare Books and Manuscript Library. Some think the poem may have been inspired by the assassination of President Lincoln.
