x(Rantoul, IL) -- A U of I student is alive thanks a trio of Good Samaritans. Journalism student Ethan Asofsky certainly has a story to tell. His car slid off I-57 near Rantoul during Monday’s snowstorm and when he started back up an embankment, an SUV slid into him. Asofsky became pinned beneath the vehicle. State Trooper Brian Scott saw the accident and stopped to help. The 300-pound former U of I football player got help from two others to lift the SUV off Asofsky while his frat brother pulled him to safety by the feet. Aside from a gash on his side that required 18 stitches, Asofsky suffered no other serious injuries.
