(Decatur, IL) -- The Macon County Sheriff’s Office is asking for victims of a local scam artist to come forward. Lloyd Peterson of Argenta was arrested last week after he solicited an estimated three-thousand-dollars in funds for an area girls’ softball team call “Excell Softball.” The 42-year-old used to be involved with the team, but it was dissolved after some folks involved with the team saw some funny stuff going on with fundraising and subsequently notified police. Officers arrested Peterson after leaving a Forsyth business with a donation. He admitted to using the funds solely to live upon. Businesses in Macon or DeWitt counties that may have given money to Peterson or Excell Softball are asked to call the Sheriff’s Office.
