Last Day To Register To Become CERT Volunteer



(Decatur, IL) -- Folks interested in joining the Macon County Community Emergency Response Team have until close-of-business today to sign up. The CERT volunteer program is a 20-hour commitment, requiring successful applicants to report to the Warrensburg Fire Department from 6 to 10 p.m. each of the five nights of instruction. The training course begins this Sunday. Participants will learn how to help the community handle disasters, fire suppression and safety, search and rescue, medical operations, terrorism and general emergency preparedness. Register at the Macon County Health Department.
