(Decatur, IL) -- If you Eisenhower High student asks you for some string to tie up their books, don’t be shocked. Students are now keeping their backpacks in their lockers and are banned from toting the bags from class to class. It’s just one of a few new rules implemented as a proactive approach to school safety. Backpacks will stay out of classrooms at least until the end of the semester. That’s when officials intend to re-evaluate the policy.
