(Clinton, IL) -- State Attorney General Lisa Madigan is tossing her support behind an effort to keep PCBs out of the Clinton landfill. Her office is backing an effort to have the DeWitt County Board vote on the proposal again. The panel approved PCB storage back in 2007 but a complaint lodged with the Pollution Control Board alleged the landfill’s operators didn’t earn proper approval as required by the Illinois Environmental Protection Act. If the complaint is successful, the county board could vote on the issue again, which will almost certainly be shot down once and for all.
